Panam\u00e1, 26 de febrero 2022.<\/strong> Para apoyar al proceso de vacunaci\u00f3n contra el Covid-19 en Latinoam\u00e9rica y el Caribe, el Dep\u00f3sito de Respuesta Humanitaria de las Naciones Unidas, uno de los usuarios del Centro Log\u00edstico Regional de Asistencia Humanitaria (CLRAH), adquiri\u00f3 contenedores refrigerados.<\/p>\n

Francisco Quezada, gerente del Dep\u00f3sito de Respuesta Humanitaria de las Naciones Unidas, inform\u00f3 que el Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP) realiz\u00f3 la compra de 100 contenedores refrigerados de los cuales destin\u00f3 10 a su base ubicada en Panam\u00e1, (6 de 40 pies y 4 de 20 de pies).<\/p>\n

En este sentido, destac\u00f3 que recientemente las autoridades de Cuba se comunicaron con el Programa Mundial de Alimentos (WFP) solicitando apoyo en cuanto al tema de cadena de frio para su proceso de vacunaci\u00f3n; y luego de firmar un acuerdo de cooperaci\u00f3n, 4 contenedores ya se encuentran es esa naci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Alberto Sierra, director ejecutivo del CLRAH, subray\u00f3 que el manejo de este tipo de contenedores no se puede efectuar en cualquier sitio, pero en las instalaciones del tambi\u00e9n conocido \u201cHub Humanitario\u201d, adem\u00e1s de facilitar el traslado de mercanc\u00eda, se cuenta con las especificaciones necesarias en cuanto al espacio y tonelaje para un adecuado desarrollo del almacenaje abierto, esencial para este tipo de operaciones.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan informes de prensa, en la mayor de las Antillas, hasta el pasado 21 de febrero, 10 millones 601 mil 59 de individuos ten\u00edan al menos una dosis, de los cuales, ya tienen segunda dosis nueve millones 368 mil 759 y una tercera dosis, nueve millones 46 mil 835.<\/p>\n
