Panamá, 26 de septiembre 2022. Miembros de la Junta Directiva de la Cámara De Comercio Industrias y Agricultura de Panamá realizaron un recorrido por las instalaciones del Centro Logístico Regional de Asistencia Humanitaria (CLRAH).
Durante la visita, representantes de los usuarios Internacionales del llamado “Hub Humanitario” explicaron al grupo de empresarios, como se efectúa el manejo, almacenamiento y redistribución de insumos y equipo, así como la movilización de recurso humano, para una eficiente gestión de asistencia humanitaria frente a las emergencias nacionales e internacionales, en beneficio de las naciones hermanas y Panamá.
Marcela Galindo, presidenta de la Cámara de Comercio Industrias y Agricultura de Panamá, indicó que CLRAH es motivo de orgullo para los panameños, ya que es la evidencia que nuestro país no solo cuenta con el potencial para el desarrollo de negocios logísticos; sino, también posee la capacidad de servir como centro regional para el acopio y distribución de ayuda humanitaria destinada al continente y manejado por personal panameño en gran parte del proceso.
Por su parte; Francisco Quesada, gerente del Depósito de Respuesta Humanitaria de las Naciones Unidas (UNHRD), resaltó que esta visita además de visibilizar la labor que realiza la entidad, abre las puertas para entablar otro tipo de relación, ya que estas personas representan entidades que en el futuro pueden asociarse con el CLRAH.
De enero a julio del 2022, el Centro Logístico Regional de Asistencia Humanitaria (CLRAH) movilizó 706.9 toneladas de asistencia humanitaria, valorada en 14.04 millones dólares, a 38 naciones del continente.
